19 September 2009: More words of wisdom

On 2nd April (on the “What’s new?” page) I wrote about living in the present and quoted Marcus Aurelias, who lived in the very early part of AD counting. I have just read the following quote from Longfellow who lived rather later from 1807 to 1882, who had this to say:
“Look not mournfully into the past. It comes not back again. Wisely improve the present. It is thine. Go forth to meet the shadowy future, without fear.”
That is my wish for you today . . . and all the todays to come.

9 September 2009: Oh dear!

My apologies for taking so long with adding the photos to the blog. There are many different reasons including busyness and technical problems. I will endeavour to get them sorted out as soon as possible. Meanwhile here is a photo of the full moon over “our” lake the other evening. . .

16 August 2009: It’s been three months since I posted anything here, so I’ve started a new page to celebrate!

During the next week I will be posting some more photos of Harry and Victoria’s China days on the photoblog (go to “Photos” on the left). They are scans from a photo album that my eldest brother’s son now has and was compiled in 1948 and sent to Vera – who we think must have been one of Victoria’s sisters. I have chosen photos that are not already on the site, but may be similar to ones already there.
